March is designated Women’s History Month by presidential proclamation. In honor of this designation, we at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce are featuring women in business throughout the month!
Today we are featuring Kelly King, Executive Center Director for BOTH the Keystone Job Corps Center in Drums AND the Red Rock Job Corps Center in Sullivan County.
Ms. King has dedicated her career to the students at the Job Corp! She is only one of three female Executive Center Directors for the Job Corp nationwide and she is the ONLY Executive Center Director that covers two campuses! Her commitment to the students and staff is unmatched!
The KJCC is celebrating their 60th anniversary this year! Did you know that for the first three years of their existence they only accepted women in to the program? And in the early 70's they were the first center, nationwide, to accept women into the construction and trades programs! Currently they offer 23 trades to their students between the two campuses.
The Greater Hazleton Chamber is pleased to present the next Red Carpet Breakfast for 2024 on Thursday, March 28, 2024 State Representative , will update the business community on things happenings in Harrisburg including update on budget discussions and legislation he has sponsored. Only a few openings remain for the 56th Annual Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing which will take place on Thursday, August 17th. The shotgun start tournament is scheduled to take place at Sand Springs Country Club at 11 am. Registration begins at 9:30 am.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber is pleased to present the next Red Carpet Breakfast for 2023 on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Mr. Brian Swetz , the acting county manager for Luzerne County will update the business community on things happenings in our immediate area as well as impacting the County as a whole. Mr. Swetz has been with the County for ten years and was the Budget and Finance Division Head before assuming the role of acting county manager last November. Attendees will also have the opportunity for a question and answer session at the end of his presentation. 
In an effort to recognize the community service activities of volunteers in the upcoming Great Pennsylvania Cleanup, our local boroughts, municipalities, township and city will continue to support the cleanup efforts throughout Greater Hazleton which will take place on Saturday, April 22nd.
The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, along with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will once again sponsor the "Great American Cleanup” campaign. The one-day cleanup will be conducted Saturday, April 22nd.

Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter Gary Rivlin will visit Hazleton on Tuesday, October 25, for a special event celebrating the launch of his book Saving Main Street: Small Business in the Time of COVID-19.
