Chamber Recruiting Volunteers for the "Great American Cleanup in Greater Hazleton"

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, along with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will once again sponsor the "Great American Cleanup” campaign. The one-day cleanup will be conducted Saturday, April 20th. If volunteer groups cannot pick up on the 22nd, they can gather either on Friday the 19th or Sunday the 21st. Groups are asked to leave bags along the cleaup route and PennDOT and local municipatlies will pick up the bags on Monday, April 22nd. Garbage bags, safety vests and gloves are provided to all the volunteer groups and can be picked up at the The HUB, the week of April 15th to the 21st from 10 am to 4 pm at 15 W. Broad Street, Hazleton, PA 18201 (across the street from the Chamber office).

"The Great American Cleanup" is a statewide effort designed to encourage concerned citizens and groups to participate in a meaningful community beautification effort. The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is the local coordinator for the Greater Hazleton Area.

Women's History Month Feature - Jessica Spare of Honesdale National Bank

March is designated Women’s History Month by presidential proclamation. In honor of this designation, we at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce are featuring women in business throughout the month!

Today we are featuring Jessica Spare. Jessica recently accepted a position with Honesdale National Bank as the Vice President Commercial Loan Officer. She will be serving the Luzerne County Area.

She has been in the banking industry for the past 26 years, with her first position as a part-time teller at First Federal Saving & Loan of Hazleton. As a small business lender, for the past 10 years, she has enjoyed being a strong advocate for her clients and working closely to uniquely serve, grow, and fulfill their business and lending needs.

Ms. Spare enjoys mentoring her friends and family with any of their business or personal and finance needs. And she truly enjoys being her customers, “go to” person whenever they have a question or need help with anything financial!

For the past few years, she has been an active member of all four of our Chamber’s Women in Business Planning Committees and currently serves as Chair of one sub-committee and Vice Chair of two other sub-committees!

Jessica was born and raised in the Hazleton Area and currently live in Drums with her fiancé, daughter, son, and bonus-daughter.

Chamber Announces Women in Business Luncheon Open to All Women in Greater Hazleton Happening Tuesday

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is holding their second woman in business luncheon program for 2024 on Tuesday, March 26^TH from 12 noon to 1 pm at Damon’s Restaurant on Route 93 Hazleton. The event is being sponsored by Silver Pines Treatment Center and it is open for any woman to attend.

The program will begin promptly at 12 noon and will include lunch. Our guest speaker will be Bill Stegura, CRS, CFRS, Peer Recovery Specialist from Recovery Friendly Workplace – PA. He will present, What is the Recovery Friendly Workplace Initiative & How It Improves Community, Businesses & Employees. Attendees will learn how this initiative is designed to help employers of ALL TYPES become more supportive of employees who are seeking recovery from substance use and mental health disorders. The RFW initiative is completely free to employers and can save thousands in costs each year, which is money that can be reinvested back into the community.

Everyone will enjoy lunch, a 50/50 raffle and doorprize drawings. Attendees are encouraged to bring your business cards, brochures, coupons or giveaways to share on our "Business Resource Table".

Additional luncheon programs for the remainder of the year have been set for Tuesdays, May 21^st; July 30^th, September 24^th; and November 19^th.

Women's History Month Feature - Roxie Rose of Powder & Ink Permanent Cosmetics and Tattoo Studio

March is designated Women’s History Month by presidential proclamation. In honor of this designation, we at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce are featuring women in business throughout the month!

Roxie Rose is the owner of Powder & Ink Permanent Cosmetics and Tattoo Studio which is located in the CAN BE Incubator in West Hazleton.

Ms. Rose has lived in the Greater Hazleton area most of her life. She graduated from Hazleton Area High School in 2010 and then graduated from college in 2013.

She is the proud owner of her small business since 2019!

Women's History Month Feature - Kelly King of Keystone Job Corps Center and Red Rock Job Corps Center

March is designated Women’s History Month by presidential proclamation. In honor of this designation, we at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce are featuring women in business throughout the month!

Today we are featuring Kelly King, Executive Center Director for BOTH the Keystone Job Corps Center in Drums AND the Red Rock Job Corps Center in Sullivan County.

Ms. King has dedicated her career to the students at the Job Corp! She is only one of three female Executive Center Directors for the Job Corp nationwide and she is the ONLY Executive Center Director that covers two campuses! Her commitment to the students and staff is unmatched!

The KJCC is celebrating their 60th anniversary this year! Did you know that for the first three years of their existence they only accepted women in to the program? And in the early 70's they were the first center, nationwide, to accept women into the construction and trades programs! Currently they offer 23 trades to their students between the two campuses.

State Representative Michael Cabell to Speak at March 28th Red Carpet Breakfast

The Greater Hazleton Chamber is pleased to present the next Red Carpet Breakfast for 2024 on Thursday, March 28, 2024 State Representative , will update the business community on things happenings in Harrisburg including update on budget discussions and legislation he has sponsored. Attendees will also have the opportunity for a question and answer session at the end of his presentation. The breakfast program will take place at Edgewood by Sand Spring at 22 Edgewood Lane in Drums, PA.

The program will begin at 7:45 a.m. and conclude at 9:00 a.m. A full breakfast will be served at the upcoming program for a $25 fee for chamber members and a $30 fee for non-chamber members. “ Representative Cabell has been hard at work for the Greater Hazleton Community. It is important to hear how current legislation will impact our area as well as to give him feedback on what is happening in our business community. ,” noted Mary Malone, President of the Hazleton Chamber. The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce as a way of providing information to the local business community as well as offering new and expanded business networking opportunities conducts the Red Carpet programs monthly. Those in attendance will also be updated by Alana Roberts of PPL who is the sponsor of the event. Attendees are encouraged to participate in the business card drop for a chance to win a free breakfast.

Chamber Job Fair Is This Thursday

Greater Hazleton Area residents looking for employment opportunities are invited to take part in the 28^th Annual Greater Hazleton Job Fair taking place this Thursday, March 21^st from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Laurel Mall on Route 93 in Hazleton.

Thirty-three participating firms will be on hand to locate full, part-time, internships, temporary or summer workers and to promote various educational and career opportunities.

Women's History Month Feature - Jennifer Barnasevitch of Smith Floral

March is designated Women’s History Month by presidential proclamation. In honor of this designation, we at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce are featuring women in business throughout the month!

Today we are featuring Jennifer Barnasevitch, owner of Smith Floral Co in West Hazleton.

Jennifer started working at Smith Floral when she was only 16 years old! The Smith family started the business in 1896! When they decided to retire and sell the business in 2014, Jennifer took leap a of faith and decided to purchase it. She has never looked back!

She is a small business owner, a leader of a team of ten employees, a creator and a designer! The passion she has for what she does shines through! When asked what her favorite part of the business is, she said, "I love it all!" She loves the changing of the seasons and that there is always something different to look forward to, whether it's Christmas or Easter, preparing or breaking down the greenhouse and everything in between!

Through the eyes of Jennifer, owning a floral shop is a unique opportunity to deal with every major event in someone’s life. From celebrating a birth to celebrating a life and every milestone in between, whether that’s an anniversary, a job promotion or a birthday!

Women's History Month Feature - Theresa Long of MMI

March is designated Women’s History Month by presidential proclamation. In honor of this designation, we at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce are featuring women in business throughout the month!

Today we are featuring Theresa Long, Head of School at MMI Preparatory School in Freeland.

Theresa began her journey as Head of School at MMI in the beginning of the 2022-2023 academic year. Theresa made history as THE FIRST woman Head of School for MMI!

As an NEPA native, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from College Misericordia and a Master of Science in Nursing from Wilkes University and she has a served in a number of leadership roles throughout her 35 year career in healthcare.

There are so many things to love about Theresa but what we love most is HER love and dedication to MMI and their students! She has deep roots and a unique connection with the school, not only as a long-time Board Member, but as a parent of former students who both graduated from MMI!

Theresa says, “I have seen firsthand the amazing, positive effect the faculty and staff have had on my two sons. They are impressive young men who have made the transition to college life with ease.

Chamber Meets New Standard-Speaker Leadership

The Chamber organized a meeting yesterday with Dave Janoski, Managing Editor and Jim Reeser, City Editor of the Standard Speaker.

The meeting provided a productive roundtable discussion for the new team at the Standard Speaker to better understand our community and all the positive initiatives happening right here in Greater Hazleton!

Deadline Nears For Businesses to Participate in Greater Hazleton Job Fair; List of “To Date” Participating Businesses Announced

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is continuing to plan for the 28^th Annual Greater Hazleton Job Fair which will take place on Thursday, March 21^st at the the Laurel Mall in Hazleton from 10 am to 3:30 pm. The Job Fair provides a unique forum to help match people with new and expanded employment opportunities. Area employers seeking to locate full, part time, temporary or summer workers are encourage to participate in this one-day event. The deadline for businesses to register for the job fair is this Friday, March 15^th and space is limited.

Niagara Bottling Donates Safety Vests for Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful / Great PA Cleanup

A HUGE thank you to Niagara Bottling in the Humboldt Industrial Park! They have graciously donated 1,000 safety vests for each and every volunteer who will be taking part in the Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful / Great PA Cleanup initiative that is happening for the 40th year in the Greater Hazleton Area on April 19th, 20th & 21st! It is because of partnerships like this that Greater Hazleton is truly a great place to live, work & play! Thank you to Niagara !

Space Remaining at the Greater Hazleton Job Fair 2024

Officials from the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce coordinating the Greater Hazleton Job Fair 2024 have announced that the event, scheduled for Thursday, March 21st has 20 businesses participating to date and there is space remaining for additional businesses.

These businesses and institutions will be on hand to provide educational, career and employment opportunities for those in attendance. Local and regional businesses have signed up to participate in the one-day event, which will take place at the Laurel Mall in Hazleton.

Chamber Mixer to Highlight CommunityCare Postponed to April 3

Chamber members, their employees, co-workers and guests are invited to attend the February networking mixer at CommunityCare located at 426 Airport Road in Hazle Township. This after-hours event will feature members of the team and Dr. George Ruiz, (pictured) board-certified cardiologist who cares for men and women. He specializes in general heart care including treatment for heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, adult congenital heart disease, and heart disease in pregnancy.

Attendees will enjoy a delectable array of hors d' oeuvres and special treats. In addition a basket raffle will take place with all proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association.

The mixer will be from 5 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, February 13^th.

City of Hazleton Mayor Jeff Cusat to Speak at February 22 Red Carpet Breakfast

Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Announces the Release of its 2024-2026 Image Book

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce recently announced that the 2024-2026 edition of its biennial Image Book has been released and a copy is in the mail and on its way to every Chamber member.

The Image Book, which is produced every two years, is the Chamber's number one publication and serves as a guide to the Greater Hazleton region. The new issue of the Image Book is the largest edition in the history of the publication. It is packed with 136 pages worth of information that businesses and individuals need to live, work and play in Greater Hazleton.

Chamber Members are Invited to the First Networking Mixer of 2024

Chamber Woman’s Networking Committee to Host a Series of Luncheon Programs for 2024

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is holding their first woman’s networking luncheon program for 2024 Tuesday, January 30^TH from 12 noon to 1 pm at Top of the 80’s Restaurant in Hazleton. Penn DOT District IV Executive Director to Speak at December 6th Red Carpet Breakfast

Last Chamber Woman’s Networking Luncheon for 2023 Scheduled for Tuesday, November 28th

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is holding their final woman’s networking luncheon program for 2023 on Tuesday, November 28^th from 12 noon to 1 pm at Rostas Café on 15^th Street in Hazleton. The event is being sponsored by Maria Rosario Allstate Agency and the event is open for any woman to attend.

The program will begin promptly at 12 noon and will include a buffet lunch. The guest speaker is Susan J. Selby, CEO from Immanuel Christian School who is presenting on Cultural Intelligence and Cultural Competency. Prioritizing cultural intelligence within one's organization is essential for flourishing teams that are effective, creative, and innovative. Culturally competent teams make better decisions, and are more honest and more satisfied problem solvers. You will receive some tools to grow in a more authentic understanding of yourself and others and you'll be empowered to be an influencer of more cultural awareness in your workplace.

Luzerne County Launches its Small Business Sustainability Grant Program

This morning, Luzerne County officials announced the opening of the Luzerne County Small Business Sustainability Grant Program. Eligible businesses can apply online at www.luzernecountyready.org.

The program aims to help mitigate the negative economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on small businesses, keep their doors open, protect local jobs, support community economic recovery, and increase resiliency across Luzerne County.

“I encourage all eligible small business owners to seize this opportunity and take advantage of the ARPA funding. By doing so, you will be investing in the future of your business and contributing to the revitalization of our local economy. This program is a perfect example of collaboration with many community partners who are so deeply invested in supporting our small businesses,” stated Romilda P. Crocamo, Esq., Luzerne County Manager, at a press event held at the Courthouse.

One-time, grant awards of $5,000 will be distributed to eligible applicants with less than 20 Full Time Equivalent Employees. Businesses with 20 or more Full Time Equivalent Employees may be eligible for up to $10,000 as funding allows.

Winners Announced for Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Business & Community Awards

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of their Annual 2023 Business and Community Awards. In an attempt to help promote October as “Chamber of Commerce” month, the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce will hold a special awards luncheon, sponsored by Community Bank, NA, to recognize the winners of the awards. The luncheon will take place on Thursday, October 26^th at 11:45 am at Top of the 80’s Restaurant in Hazleton. The cost of the luncheon is $32 per person. The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is holding their sixth woman’s networking luncheon program for 2023 Tuesday, September 26^th from 12 noon to 1 pm at Sand Springs Country Club in Drums. The event is being sponsored by Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton and the event is open for any woman to attend.

The program will begin promptly at 12 noon and will include a buffet lunch. The guest speaker is Dr. Lori A. Alfonse, DO, Deputy Physician in Chief, Cancer Institute, Surgical Oncology who will present on breast health. Dr. Alfonse focuses on breast cancers, benign disorders of the breast.

Chamber Members are Invited to Networking Mixer at Providence Place Senior Living

Chamber members, their employees, co-workers and guests are invited to attend a networking mixer after-hours with the business community. Providence Place Senior Living in Drums will be showcasing their facility and services. The event will take at their property located at 149 S. Hunter Highway in Drums, on Thursday, September 28th from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Chamber Seeking Candidates for Annual Business & Community Awards

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is now seeking nominations for their 22^nd Annual Business & Community Awards. The awards are given each year in order to recognize individuals and businesses, which help to promote and support the Greater Hazleton Area.

Community Invited to Greater Hazleton Area Comprehensive Plan Public Meeting on September 6

Residents and business owners from the City of Hazleton, Hazle Township, and West Hazleton Borough are invited to participate in a Public Meeting on September 6, 2023 to share their vision for the future of the region. The Public Meeting will be held at the Laurel Mall, the Dunham’s Sports Wing, from 11 AM – 1 PM and 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM. It will be an open house format so participants can come and go during our hours of operation.

The City of Hazleton, Hazle Township, and West Hazleton Borough are working together to create a comprehensive plan. A comprehensive plan is a tool that communities use to plan for their future. It starts by describing a community’s vision for their character and quality of life. The plan is a policy guide for land use, development, and land conservation that aligns with the community’s ten-year goals. The plan identifies goals and strategies to implement the vision.

The Greater Hazleton Area Comprehensive Plan will focus on topics such as transportation, housing, job opportunities, safety, community buildings and services, and parks and open space. The community’s input into this plan is very important. Members of the community can find more information about the project, ask questions, and provide suggestions at www.hazletonspeaks.org.

This project was financed by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and each of the three municipalities.

Chamber's Ice Cream Social is on today, Aug. 4, from 2 PM to 4 PM

The Chamber and Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress will host our annual Ice Cream Social today, August 4, from 2-4 p.m. at the Welcome Center/Hazleton LaunchBox (13-15 West Broad Street).

Free ice cream will be available for all courtesy of the Fidelity Bank ice cream truck.

There will also be live entertainment all afternoon. Live Mariachis will be available at 3:30pm courtesy of Hola Radio, which will also be having a ribbon cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. for its Hola Radio/WAZL 101.1 FM and 1490 AM studios at 1 West Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton (corner of Broad & Wyoming Streets. Hazleton National Night Out

The Hazleton City Police Department invites Hazleton residents and families to attend National Night Out on August 1st, 2023 from 5pm-8pm at the CAN DO Community Park (located at the intersection of West Broad Street and North Laurel Street in Hazleton, next to the Hazleton Art League).

National Night Out is the perfect opportunity to interact with the police department and first responders. Please join us then for food, games, face painting, balloon animals, a magician, bounce house, touch-a-truck, a DJ, and more!

Chamber Golf Outing & On-Course Expo Set for August 17th Has Limited Space Available

Only a few openings remain for the 56^th Annual Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing which will take place on Thursday, August 17^th. The shotgun start tournament is scheduled to take place at Sand Springs Country Club at 11 am. Registration begins at 9:30 am.

Registration includes 18 holes of golf and a cart, gift bag for each golfer, prior to shotgun start coffee, donuts, bloody mary's and mimosas. On-course expo all day with businesses setup at the tees providing giveaways, food, drinks, snacks, games and more. An on-course hospitality tent with the famous ‘Chamber Chili Dogs", snacks, beer and drinks. After the round of golf there is a one-hour premium open bar and hors d' oeuvre reception followed by a full buffet dinner and awards program, where trophies will be given out for championship, first and second flight, men's longest drive, women's longest drive, closest to the pin and closest to the pin second shot on the green. A 50/50 raffle prize winner will be awarded and over prizes will also be given away.

Chamber Woman’s Networking Program Tuesday Open to All Women in Greater Hazleton

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is holding their fifth woman’s networking luncheon program for 2023 Tuesday, July 25^th from 12 noon to 1 pm at Best Cigar Pub in Drums. The event is being co-sponsored by the Penn State Hazleton Launchbox supported by Pasco L. Schiavo, Esq and the CAN BE Innovation Center and the event is open for any woman to attend.

The guest speaker is Lucy Singer, Business Consultant for the Wilkes University Small Business Development Center and she is presenting on marketing based on demographics and how to different tactics are needed for different age groups.

Chamber Women’s Networking Committee Announces Applications Are Available for Women’s Empowerment Grant

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s networking committee is currently seeking applications for the 15^th Annual Women’s Empowerment Grant. This grant has been established to encourage women to pursue training or education that will help them start or advance a career. The target of the grant is women who are: currently working and want to advance in their career through education or training; returning to the workforce; and/or seeking to change their current career path and pursue something more in line with their interests or passions. The grant is also intended to be available to those who would not necessarily have access to scholarships or grants. For this reason, graduating high school students will not be eligible to apply for the grant.

Chamber’s Athena Award Nominations, Sponsored by Lehigh Valley Hospital Are Now Open

The Greater Hazleton Chamber is seeking nominations for the 2023 Athena International Award. You can nominate a female that currently works at a business that is a member of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce. The prestigious award program is happening for the 35 time in our area, thanks to the sponsorship of Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Chamber Invites Membership to Event Showcasing New Programming at the Lackawanna College Hazleton Center

Chamber members, their employees, co-workers and guests are invited to attend a networking mixer after-hours, with the business community. They will enjoy sipping delicious drinks and tasting delectable bites. Lackawanna College Hazleton Center will be showcasing their brand new program, ESL to Construction Pre-Apprenticeship. The event will take place at their campus which is located at 2 E. Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton on Wednesday, April 12th from 5 pm to 7 pm in their newly expanded space, designed solely for this program.

The ESL to Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Program at Lackawanna College is a certificate program designed to prepare students for a job in any construction field. To fulfill the needs of the local community, Lackawanna College has developed an ESL to Construction Certification that includes Pre-Apprenticeship Certificates to better prepare and facilitate our highly trained Spanish speaking population. With ten weeks of intensive industry specific English language training, our Latino students will be able to easily transition into the Apprenticeship trainings and certifications.

Luzerne County Acting Manager Brian Swetz to Speak at April 20 Red Carpet Breakfast

The Greater Hazleton Chamber is pleased to present the next Red Carpet Breakfast for 2023 on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Mr. Brian Swetz , the acting county manager for Luzerne County will update the business community on things happenings in our immediate area as well as impacting the County as a whole. Mr. Swetz has been with the County for ten years and was the Budget and Finance Division Head before assuming the role of acting county manager last November. Attendees will also have the opportunity for a question and answer session at the end of his presentation.

Local Boroughs, Municipalities, Townships & City Assist in "Great Pennsylvania Cleanup"

In an effort to recognize the community service activities of volunteers in the upcoming Great Pennsylvania Cleanup, our local boroughts, municipalities, township and city will continue to support the cleanup efforts throughout Greater Hazleton which will take place on Saturday, April 22^nd.

According to Leann Fallabel, Vice President of Marketing for the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce and cleanup coordinator, "without their support, the cleanup efforts would not be able to be done on such a large scale. Our group is one of the largest cleanup efforts in the state of Pennsylvania and everyone involved is to be recognized."

Collaborative Community Effort, Hazleton Speaks, launches Community-wide Survey

The first stage of the Greater Hazleton Area’s multi-municipal comprehensive plan has officially begun with the launch of its community-wide survey. Upon its completion, this comprehensive plan will become a blueprint for the community’s future with recommended actions relevant to the current and future needs of the Greater Hazleton community.

Chamber Recruiting Volunteers for the "Great American Cleanup in Greater Hazleton"

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, along with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will once again sponsor the "Great American Cleanup” campaign. The one-day cleanup will be conducted Saturday, April 22nd.

If volunteer groups cannot pick up on the 22nd, they can gather either on Friday the 21st or Sunday the 23rd. Groups are asked to leave bags along the cleaup route and PennDOT and local municipatlies will pick up the bags on Monday, April 24th. Garbage bags, safety vests and gloves are provided to all the volunteer groups and can be picked up at the The HUB, the week of April 17th to the 21st from 10 am to 5 pm at 15 W. Chamber Woman’s Networking Luncheon Set

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is holding their second woman’s networking luncheon program for 2023 Tuesday, February 28^th from 12 noon to 1 pm at Edgewood located at 22 Edgewood Lane in Drums. The event is being sponsored by Geisinger and it is open for any woman to attend.

The program will begin promptly at 12 noon and will include a lunch buffet. Our guest speaker is George Ruiz, MD, Board Certified Cardiologist for Geisinger. Dr. Ruiz will present on Heart Health in honor of February being American Heart Month. Everyone is encouraged to wear red to the program!

George Ruiz, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist who cares for men and women. He specializes in general heart care including treatment for heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, adult congenital heart disease and heart disease in pregnancy.

He has a clinical interest in treating heart failure and managing ventricular assist devices. “I love getting people back to who they were and coaching them to re-connect with their goals,” he says. “Heart failure routinely limits patients — I get excited when we can give patients back what heart failure has taken from them. It’s inspiring to see patients reclaim their lives.” He adds, “There’s something magical about a second chance. I always wanted to be part of team that made second chances possible.”

Drop the Drugs Van to Appear at Red Carpet Breakfast

The City of Hazleton Drop the Drugs van will be parked outside the PA Theatre of Performing Arts PTPA, 212 W Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton tomorrow morning (Wednesday, January 25th) from 7 am to 9 am, during our Chamber January Red Carpet Breakfast program where Mayor Cusat will be our main event speaker.

The Drop the Drugs van is a mobile drug drop-off location to help keep excess and unwanted prescription drugs out of the hands of our children. This service is open anyone.

City of Hazleton Mayor Jeff Cusat to Kick Off 2023 Red Carpet Series

The start of our 2023 Red Carpet series for the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce features City of Hazleton mayor Jeff Cusat. The Mayor will update the business community on Wednesday, January 25. The breakfast program is being sponsored by chamber member Barry Isett and Associates, and will take place at The PA Theater for Performing Arts, located at 212 West Broad Street, in the heart of our downtown. The fantastic team from Capriotti’s will be catering the breakfast and students from Immanuel Christan School will be our guest servers for the day.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce as a way of providing information to the local business community and offering new and expanded business networking opportunities conducts the Red Carpet programs monthly. “ We are excited to be hosting for the first time a Red Carpet event at the PA Theater for Performing Arts so that our community can see what a great asset the center is and some of our recent improvements and plans noted Sherri O’Donnell, PTPA events coordinator. The first Red Carpet of the Year is always well-attended breakfast, and gives chance for folks to connect with not only the city, but also the Chamber and hear about what is in store for 2023.

Holiday Tree Contest

Since hands are our thing, we made a few handmade decorations to adorn our tree. The cute gnome faces match our office furniture, the hand ornaments smells like cinnamon and the star tree topper is made out of paper bags. As we know, your hands are your most important tool and we love to see the end result of using them. Our color scheme this year is green, gold and a little woodsy.

Business Women from Throughout Greater Hazleton are Invited to the Chamber Women’s Holiday Social

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Holiday Social will take place on Wednesday, December 14th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. This event is being hosted and sponsored by Hazleton Honda located on the Airport Road in Hazle Township.

The winners of the Annual Tree Decorating Contest will be announced. Chamber Downtown Holiday Mixer Set for Members This Wednesday

The City of Hazleton and Partners Will Ring in the Holiday Season with Combined Holiday Celebration

Community members are invited to ring in the holiday season with the City of Hazleton and its partners for a combined Holiday Celebration on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at City Hall Block – 40 N. Church Street, from 4 to 9 PM.

The Mayor’s Office is collaborating with CAN DO, the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress (DHAP), Hazleton Parks and Recreation, and the Hazleton Public Library to bring ‘The City of Hazleton’s Holiday Celebration’ to life. This family-friendly event will be an evening full of holiday cheer for all Greater Hazleton Area community members and their families.

The free event will feature food trucks and a holiday vendor market sponsored by DHAP. Vendors include Poppy Press; J Zapata; Flaming Jalapeño; La Tía Empanada; T-Soon Moon; Carola’s Bakery; A Sweet Duo; Pasapalos Times; Gigi Art; and Mels Crafting. The Hazleton Library will also hold a free holiday craft event that is available for all attendees, which along with DHAP’s market, will run throughout the evening until the close of the celebrations at 9:00 PM.

Pulitzer-Prize Winner Gary Rivlin Will Visit Hazleton Tuesday for Saving Main Street Book Launch

Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter Gary Rivlin will visit Hazleton on Tuesday, October 25, for a special event celebrating the launch of his book Saving Main Street: Small Business in the Time of COVID-19. The Chamber will host a networking mixer and book launch from 5-7 p.m. at the Hazleton Area Public Library, 55 N. Church Street.

Rivlin, who is a veteran journalist, spent nearly two years in the heart of America, closely tracking a small group of business owners and their employees, documenting their struggles and strategies to survive. He visited Hazleton in-person and through Zoom on many occasions during the pandemic. His book, which was released via Harper Business on October 18, features three communities in Northeastern Pennsylvania and includes the incredible stories of six members of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, including Fellin Jewelers, Hazle Drugs, Jimmy's Hot Dog, The Poppy Press, Smith Floral and Vilma's Hair Salon.

The book shares the stories of small business owners fighting to keep their businesses alive through COVID-19, while exploring the sweeping trends and government policies that had brought small businesses to the breaking point long before the coronavirus hit.

Winners Announced for Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Business & Community Awards

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of their Annual 2022 Business and Community Awards. In an attempt to help promote October as “Chamber of Commerce” month, the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce will hold a special awards luncheon, sponsored by Community Bank, NA, to recognize the winners of the awards. Chamber Woman’s Luncheon Set for Tuesday

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is holding a woman’s networking luncheon program on Tuesday, September 27^th from 12 noon to 1 pm at the Valley Country Club in Sugarloaf. The event is being sponsored by Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton and it is open for
any woman to attend.

The program will begin promptly at 12 noon and will include lunch. Our guest speaker is Dr. Lori A. Alfonse, DO, Deputy Physician in Chief, Cancer Institute, Surgical Oncology. She will present on breast health. Dr. Alfonse focuses on breast cancers, benign disorders of the breast.

Chamber Seeking Candidates for Annual Business & Community Awards

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is now seeking nominations for their 21^st Annual Business & Community Awards. The awards are given each year in order to recognize individuals and businesses, which help to promote and support the Greater Hazleton Area.

Nominations are being accepted for: Small Business of the Year; Large Business of the Year, Rocco Colangelo Volunteer of the Year, Pride of Place, Charitable Organization of the Year, Healthy Workplace of the Year, and Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

A business or individual may be nominated for an award or they can nominate themselves. Once the nomination is received by the Chamber, the nominee will be notified and asked to complete an official application. The applications are reviewed and scored by a volunteer committee, and all winners will be recognized at a special luncheon program, sponsored by Community Bank, N.A., to be held on Thursday, October 27th at 11:45 am the The Pines Eatery & Spirits in Downtown Hazleton.

Funfest Canceled Due to Weather but 9/11 Exhibit and Memorial Service and Peace Love Chalk Are Still On

Due to impending weather, the Funfest Parade, Vendors & all other Funfest related activities are cancelled.

However, the 9/11 Memorial Prayer Service and Hazleton Art League Peace Love Chalk competition will still be held!

The 9/11 Memorial Prayer Service will now take place indoors at The Pines Eatery & Spirits, 8 W. Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton. You can also still view the 9/11 Mobile Exhibit Saturday and Sunday.

The Hazleton Art League will also still host its Peace Love Chalk competition inside the Hayden Family Center for the Arts.

World Memorial 9/11 Remembrance Mobile Exhibit Arrives in Hazleton

The World Memorial 9/11 Remembrance Mobile Exhibit has arrived in Hazleton!

The welcoming committee to place the semi-trailer holding the exhibit until set up day included City Councilman, volunteer fire fighter and organizer Tony Columbo; Volunteer Driver Art Montoro; City Council President Jim Perry; Hazleton firefighters Tom Breznitskty, Mike Volciak, Jordan Klein, Joey Cincilla , Kyle Jones, and Mackensie Jones; and Hazleton police officers Mark Zola, Linaldy Rodriguez and Jordan Yanac.

The Luzerne Foundation Announced the Pasco L. Schiavo Memorial Fund

As most of you know, Attorney Pasco L. Schiavo was a well-known attorney, philanthropist, and entrepreneur based in Hazleton. Pasco was involved in many community initiatives, and his public service has impacted many areas of the NEPA region.

In his final act of true generosity, Pasco made sure to carve out funds to aid his community. Through his family and the Board of the Luzerne Foundation, the Pasco L. Schiavo Fund proudly announces $350,000 in grants in various amounts in the Hazleton Area and Weatherly Area non-profits with a focus on education, youth recreational experiences, and social services.

The Foundation will hold the inaugural Pasco L. Schiavo Grant Forum on October 12, 2022, where $100,000 in grants will be awarded to eligible non-profits and municipalities.

World Memorial 9/11 Remembrance Exhibit to visit Hazleton September 10-11

The World Memorial 9/11 Remembrance mobile exhibit will visit Downtown Hazleton on Saturday and Sunday, September 10 and 11.

The free exhibit will be on display at the Hazleton LaunchBox supported by Pasco L. Schiavo Esq., 13 W. Broad St, on September 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A memorial prayer service will be held Sept. 11 at 4:30 p.m. at CAN DO Community Park, located at the corner of Broad and Laurel streets, featuring EMT, firefighter and paramedic Mitch Mendler of the World Memorial Foundation.

The educational and informational display features a Memorial Wall of murals that tells the story of what happened on 9/11, a ten-foot-tall replica of the World Trade Center built to scale, the Flight 93 Rose Garden, the Pentagon Memorial, the Airline Flight Crew Memorial, a 720-pound piece of World Trade Center steel from the World Trade Center: Project 2978, a metal wreckage scene of the World Trade Center titled “America Unites”, a three-foot-tall Statue of Liberty, a book of news articles and missing persons fliers from 9/11, tape recordings from air traffic control and airline personnel on 9/11, a helmet display to honor the services, a flag display, and additional artifacts.

Hazleton City Councilman and volunteer firefighter Tony Columbo said, “It's really exciting to have this exhibit here for two full days in Downtown Hazleton. It's something that's so worthwhile to see and I hope that everyone takes the time to come downtown to see it. In 2014, we had the Patriot Flag, which is a part of this exhibit, here in Hazleton and now it's coming back again. This flag was in 50 states in 50 weeks and the only places it visited in Pennsylvania were Shanksville and Hazleton so that was really special. I've been working on getting this truck here for a year and a half and it finally came to be. This mobile exhibit is similar to the 9/11 Museum in New York City because it has actual artifacts and images for people to see. When people come out to see this, it's going to be an emotional experience that will put things in perspective of what people went through on that day. I want to extend my thanks to the many businesses and individuals who donated in any way to help make this possible.”

Cruise-In Car Show Friday Aug. 12 in Downtown Hazleton

A Cruise-In Car Show will be held Friday, Aug. 12 from 6-8 p.m. in Downtown Hazleton. The event is sponsored by Jimmy's Quick Lunch and VisitLuzerneCounty.com in conjunction with the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. at the blue tent at the corner of East Chestnut Street and Wyoming Street. The event will also feature live music from Outside the Box, which will be set up in the empty parking lot across from Jimmy's Quick Lunch at 123 East Broad Street.

Yosara Gonzalez Selected as Executive Director of the Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress

The Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress (DHAP) board has announced that Yosara Gonzalez, known by many as "Yoshie," has been selected as the Executive Director of the downtown nonprofit organization. According to Board President Neal DeAngelo, III, "Yoshie has the experience and energy we have been looking for to continue our vision with the growth and development of our downtown."

Establishing a committee by DHAP board members was fundamental for reviewing prospective candidates. The committee embraced the advice of Mary Malone, President of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce; Joe Clifford, PE- retired; and Vicky Perez, AVP Truist Bank; along with Mayor Jeff Cusat and Joe Lettiere, CAN DO President & CEO, in providing advice on and participation in the interview process.

"We wanted someone with the education and experience in planning and development that is actively connected with our community in different ways and in touch with their needs. Above all, we needed someone passionate about working with people, creative, and with a new perspective and vision for growth in our multicultural downtown. Yoshie has all those qualities" added DeAngelo.

HASD Superintendent Dr. Brian Uplinger to Speak at June 22 Hybrid Red Carpet Breakfast

The Greater Hazleton Chamber is pleased to present a hybrid Red Carpet Breakfast on Wednesday, June 22. Dr. Brian Uplinger and Dr. Pat Patte will update the business community on the Hazleton Area School District happenings, including building plans. Attendees will also have the opportunity for a question and answer session at the end of his presentation. The breakfast program will take place at Capriotti’s, located at 1 Banks Ave in McAdoo.

Welcome Luke Bernstein

Greater Hazleton Native Named New CEO of PA Chamber of Business and Industry

The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry recently announced the conclusion of its search for its next president and CEO with the nomination of Luke Bernstein, who is a native of Greater Hazleton.

A seasoned financial, government, and public policy professional with over 20 years of experience, Bernstein most recently served as executive vice president and chief operations and technology officer at Orrstown Financial Services, where he has been employed and served as corporate spokesperson since 2017.

Before joining the bank, he served as senior vice president of external affairs at the Pennsylvania Bankers Association from 2015 to 2017 and deputy chief of staff for former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett from 2011 to 2015.

In addition to his executive leadership roles in the private sector and state government, Bernstein has experience working at the federal level, previously serving as an appointed advisor in the Administration of President George W. Bush and as an aide in the U.S. Senate.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and policy studies from Dickinson College. Luke looked forward to stepping into his new role, which began on June 15.

No P3 Bridge Tolls Coalition Hosting Rally June 8

The No P3 Bridge Tolls Coalition will be hosting a rally at 10:00 am on June 8 on the front steps of the State Capitol Complex in Harrisburg. The rally will include remarks from state legislators, county officials, statewide business organizations, local chambers, and economic development entities who oppose Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s P3 Major Bridge Tolling Initiative.

The coalition is calling on the Wolf Administration and PennDOT to scrap the tolling proposal and work with organizations and stakeholders to find sustainable and equitable long-term solutions to funding Pennsylvania’s infrastructure needs.

Chamber Woman’s Networking Program Tuesday Open to All Women in Greater Hazleton

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is holding their third woman’s networking luncheon program for 2022 Tuesday, May 24^th from 12 noon to 1 pm at the Brass Buckle in Conyngham. The event is being sponsored by The H&K Group and is open for any woman to attend.

The program will begin promptly at 12 noon and will include a buffet lunch. Our guest speaker will be Eileen Perchak, Executive Director for Mission Autism Clinics and she will present on Autism and Inclusivity in the Workplace.

Dooprize drawings including, a free lunch for the next program and the opportunity to give an introduction of your business at the event will be drawn. Women are encouraged to bring along promotional items, such as business cards, brochures, giveaways, etc. to display on our business resource table.

Chamber and Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton announce the 2022 Athena Recipient

Miss Faberge aka Carol A. Zielinski, owner and operator of Faberge Follies Dance ’n' Tumble has been selected as the recipient of the 2022 Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Athena Award, sponsored by Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton.

Miss Faberge opened the doors to her studio located in downtown Hazleton 33 years ago. Her love of dance from a young age quickly translated to opening and operating the studio. She has been nationally published in Dance Teacher magazine and also expanded into a retail boutique, The Diva Dancewear Boutique which was opened for the ease of area creatives to find all that they needed locally. Always an innovator with a heart to match her skills, she is now working on an online presence “ The Faberge Way” to share her 33 years as a business owner, performer, and dancer with so many others.

Community service is a key component of the Athena Award. Miss Faberge's core philosophy is “ never to say no when asked” and she has generously shared her talents and special brand of enthusiasm with so many organizations in the Greater Hazleton area. Her studio has been front and center for Santa and Easter Bunny events, the Chamber annual meeting, Drums fall festival, American Cancer Society Ball, Valley Day, working with scouts on badge requirements, and the Philharmonic Sounds of the Season holiday show. She launched and coordinated “The Make Someone Happy” tour of all the senior centers and nursing homes. This tour welcomes not only dance students but anyone wanting to share their talents for the benefit of seniors in our area. Her spirit, creative passion and talents make each and every occurrence better for having her touch.

Chamber Networking Mixer Slated for Next Week

The Chamber’s first networking mixer for 2022 is taking place next week. The mixer will take place on Tuesday, May 3rd at Fyzical Therapy & Balance Center at Hazleton, which is located at 1077 N. Church Street inside the Church Hill Mall in Hazle Township. All Chamber members, their guests, employees, and co-workers, are invited to attend. There is no fee, however reservations are required.

Chamber members, employees, co-workers & guests are invited to enjoy a casual, after-hours event, networking with the business community of Greater Hazleton Chamber. Meet the team at Fyzical Therapy & Balance Center and hear about all of the services they have to offer you, your business and employees. Gov. Wolf Announces $4 million in Community Development Block Grant-CARES Act Funding for NEPA

Governor Tom Wolf has announced $4 million in Community Development Block Grant-CARES Act (CDBG-CV) funding to support communities and their residents in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

NEPA Alliance through the Partnership for Regional Economic Performance (Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill, and Wayne counties) will be providing grants of up to $50,000 for small businesses and up to $15,000 for microenterprises (small businesses that employ few people) located in one of those 7 counties that have been severely impacted due to COVID-19. NEPA Alliance anticipates approximately 150 jobs will be retained or created.

Applications will be reviewed and granted on a first come, first served basis until funds are depleted. There is no cost to apply for this grant.

The University of Scranton and Wilkes University Small Business Development Centers are assisting with the application process by offering individual guidance. If you are not already working with an SBDC consultant, please register with the SBDC to receive services.

Chamber Announces Plans are Underway for Their 130th Anniversary and Executive Business Exposition

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce has announced plans are well underway for their 130^th Anniversary and Executive Business Exposition, which is taking place on Thursday, May 19^that Capriotti’s, One Banks Avenue in McAdoo.

This is the Chamber’s largest event of the year and will be limited to the first 250 chamber member attendees. The presenting sponsor for this year’s event is once again, PPL.

In order to provide the opportunity for all Chamber members to take part in event, plenty of options are available, whether it is attending with a reservation, participating in the expo or as an event sponsor.

The event will kick off at 5 pm with a short program, recognizing the Chamber’s outgoing Board of Directors and change in Board Chair, and then, honoring the Athena Businesswoman of the Year. The Athena Businesswoman of the Year award is sponsored by Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton. After the short program, which will take place in the Capella at Capriotti’s, attendees will then move to the main banquet facility for the Executive Business Exposition. The expo portion of the event will include hand-passed hors d’oeuvres, a 5-station meal and a cash bar. The Expo provides Chamber member businesses and attendees with an informal way to combine the social benefits of the evening, with the opportunity to see some of the goods and services available through local business.

Butler Township Supervisors to Speak at April 21st Hybrid Red Carpet Breakfast

The Greater Hazleton Chamber is pleased to present the April hybrid Red Carpet Breakfast on Thursday, April 21^st, 2022. Butler Township Supervisors, Chairman: Charles P. Altmiller; Vice Chairman; Michael J. Reich and Secretary/Treasurer: Dr. Frank Polidora will provide an update the business community on happenings in Butler Township. Attendees will also have the opportunity for a question and answer session at the end of his presentation. The breakfast program will take place at their Township Offices located at 83 Corporate Drive in Drums.

Chamber Recruiting Volunteers for the "Great American Cleanup in Greater Hazleton"

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, along with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will once again sponsor the "Great American Cleanup” campaign. The one-day cleanup will be conducted Saturday, April 23^rd. If volunteer groups cannot pick up on the 23^rd, they can gather either on Friday the 22^nd or Sunday the 24^th. Groups are asked to leave bags along the cleaup route and PennDOT and local municipatlies will pick up the bags on Monday, April 25^th. Garbage bags, safety vests, gloves and a certificate of particpation are provided to all the volunteer groups and can be picked up at the Chamber office from 8 am to 3 pm the week of April 18^th.

"The Great American Cleanup" is a statewide effort designed to encourage concerned citizens and groups to participate in a meaningful community beautification effort. The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is the local coordinator for the Greater Hazleton Area.

"Athena" Award Nomination Forms Available from Chamber

Nominations for the annual Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce/ Lehigh Valley Health Networks "Athena Award" are now being accepted. Nomination letters have been sent in the Chamber’s March newsletter to over 800 Chamber member contacts, and are also available at the Chamber office at 8 West Broad Street, Suite M-1490, Downtown Hazleton and online at www.hazletonchamber.org.

The award is presented annually to the "Businesswoman of the Year" in the Greater Hazleton Area. The presentation, which features a handsome bronze and crystal sculpture, is presented as part of the Chamber’s Annual Meeting and is sponsored by Lehigh Valley Health Networks . This year, the award will be presented on Thursday, May 19 at the 130 th Annual Dinner of the Chamber, to take place at the Capriotti's .

The Chamber "Athena" award will be given to the businesswoman who has demonstrated the "highest level of professional accomplishment" and is based primarily on professional competency, achievement and dedication. According to Chamber officials the "Athena" award is not intended to be a civic achievement award, but a meaningful recognition of women as an integral part of the Hazleton Area workplace.

Any woman employed by a Chamber member firm may be nominated. Nominations can be made by employers, employees or friends, and should be forwarded to the Chamber of Commerce prior to the April 22^nd deadline. Individuals who are nominated will be contacted by the Chamber for additional information necessary for the award judges to consider the nomination. Official nomination forms can be obtained by contacting the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce at 570-455-1509 or emailing Mary Malone at mmalone @hazletonchamber.org. Official forms are not necessary however, and individuals desiring to submit the name of someone for consideration can do so by forwarding the name, place of employment, position, and brief comments about the individual to the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce. The name and a contact phone number for the individual making the recommendation must accompany the nomination.

Limited Space Remaining at the Greater Hazleton Job Fair 2022

Officials coordinating the Greater Hazleton Job Fair 2022 have announced that the event, scheduled for Thursday, March 24th has 39 businesses participating to date and there is limited space remaining for additional businesses.

These businesses and institutions will be on hand to provide educational, career and employment opportunities for those in attendance. Local and regional businesses have signed up to participate in the one-day event, which will take place at the Laurel Mall in Hazleton.

Employers seeking to locate full, part time, temporary or summer workers will be on hand to promote their opportunities.

Food-based entrepreneurs can apply for microgrants for use at the Hazleton Kitchen Incubator

The Hazleton Innovation Collaborative (THInC) announced that it is currently accepting applications for microgrants of up to $2,500 for any new and expanding food-based businesses who operate out of the Hazleton Kitchen Incubator in the Hayden Family Center for the Arts in downtown Hazleton.

The microgrants are being offered through the Truist Foundation, which announced last December that it awarded a $15,000 grant to the Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress, on behalf of the Collaborative, to provide financial support to culinary entrepreneurs participating in the partnership’s Kitchen Incubator Program.

Senator John Gordner to Speak at February 17 Hybrid Red Carpet Breakfast

The Greater Hazleton Chamber is pleased to present the second hybrid Red Carpet Breakfast for 2022 on Thursday, February 17, 2022. Senator John Gordner will update the business community on happenings in Harrisburg including the release of the Governors proposed budget for next year. Attendees will also have the opportunity for a question and answer session at the end of his presentation. Chamber Seeking Businesses to Participate in Annual Job Fair

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is seeking businesses to participate in the 2022 Greater Hazleton Job Fair set for Thursday, March 24th . The job fair will be held at the Laurel Mall Route 93 in Hazleton from 10 am to 4 pm.

This one-day event, will provide participating businesses with an informal, yet confidential forum to discuss career opportunities and options with hundreds of individuals from throughout the entire Greater Hazleton Area. Participating employers may accept resumes, offer information about career fields and employment opportunities, conduct interviews, promote your business and also seek for interns, summer employment, full and part time positions.

The cost for businesses to participate is $300.00 for Chamber members and $400.00 for non-Chamber members. The price includes an 8’ x 8’ booth space with side and back drops, a 6’ skirted table, two chairs, wastebasket, company identification sign, coffee and donuts in the morning and electric service (if requested). Lunch tickets may be purchased for $15.00 each. Lunch will be catered by Frankie’s Restaurant.

The Honorable Mayor Jeff Cusat to Speak at January 27th Hybrid Red Carpet Breakfast

PennDOT District IV Executive Richard Roman to speak at November 23 hybrid Red Carpet Breakfast

The Greater Hazleton Chamber is happy to announce this month’s hybrid Red Carpet Breakfast which will happen on November 23rd, 2021. Mr. Rich Roman is the District Executive for PENN DOT District IV which covers six county area in northeastern PA.

Job Fair for Dislocated DBi Workers Will Be Held Oct. 29

A job fair for dislocated DBi workers will be held this Friday, October 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hazleton LaunchBox, 15 West Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton.

More than 15 companies will be on hand to discuss their openings. Free parking is available in the city lot at 32 North Wyoming street, across from Frankie's Pizzeria.

Representatives from Unemployment Compensation, PA CareerLink, and the Greater Hazleton United Way
will be on site to answer questions.

Attendees are required to wear masks and follow all CDC guidelines.
