Chamber to Host Schmooze a' Palooza Event April 11th PDF Print E-mail

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce will hold their second in a series of Schmooze a’ Palooza luncheon programs on Thursday, April 11th from 11:30 am to 1 pm at Damon's Restaurant in Hazleton.

This is a brand new networking opportunity for 2013, which is available for Chamber members, their employees and co-workers. It is a structured networking luncheon providing an excellent opportunity to showcase and promote your business to a captive audience. Networking begins from 11:30 to 11:45 am. Attendees will have the opportunity to browse the Business Resource Table during this time. Everyone is encouraged to bring your items to share, such as business cards, brochures, giveaways, etc. The buffet lunch will begin at 12 noon and then at approximately 12:15 pm, attendees will stand, one by one, introduce themselves, their business and present their 2 minute elevator speech. The luncheon is limited to the first 35 reservations and the cost to attend is $22 per person.

Additional Schmooze a'Palooza Dates for 2013 include Thursday, June 13th; Thursday, August 8th and Thursday, October 10th.

Greater Hazleton Health Alliance Topic of Chamber Red Carpet Breakfast Program PDF Print E-mail

James Edwards, CEO/President of the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance will be the main speaker at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Red Carpet Breakfast program on Wednesday, April 10th.  Mr. Edwards will highlight the Alliance’s life-saving Emergency Services, the Hazleton Health and Wellness Center, Alliance Medical Group, and more.

The program will begin with a full breakfast, sponsored by the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance, beginning at 7:45 a.m. at the Valley Country Club, 79 Country Club Road, Sugarloaf.

Chamber Hosting Seminar on Ergonomics in Your Workplace PDF Print E-mail

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is offering a seminar on Ergonomics in Your Workplace.  During this session we will identify the most common areas of repetitive motion problems, what some forward-thinking businesses are doing to improve job function for their employees, and discuss how to identify and implement a program that gives you the tools to recognize and plan for changes in work function to better match the employee actions (if the demands of the job match the capabilities of the worker, the job-worker interface is optimized). Employers must be aware of the issues faced by older adults and how to use the sound principles of ergonomics to accommodate them in the workplace.

Chamber Recruiting Volunteers for the "Great Pennsylvania Cleanup" PDF Print E-mail

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, along with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will Great PA Cleanuponce again sponsor the "Great Pennsylvania Cleanup” campaign. The one-day cleanup will be conducted Saturday, April 20th rain or shine.

"The Great Pennsylvania Cleanup" is a statewide effort designed to encourage concerned citizens and groups to participate in a meaningful community beautification effort. The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is the local coordinator for the Greater Hazleton Area.

Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Announces Seventeenth Annual Community Reading Day on April 25t PDF Print E-mail

Community Reading Day helps to promote literacy and encourage life-long reading and imagination with our crd promonext generation.  That’s the message the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is sending through its partnership with Penn State Hazleton in the Seventeenth Annual Community Reading Day program.  This event will be held in the Hazleton area on April 25th between 9:30 am and 10:00 am in elementary classrooms in Hazleton Area schools and throughout Luzerne, Lackawanna, and Wayne Counties.

In addition to the Greater Hazleton Chamber, additional event partners are the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber, the Greater Carbondale Area Chamber, the Greater Pittston Chamber, the South Valley Chamber, and the Wayne County Chamber.  Together, these regional groups organized this annual event as part of their ongoing efforts to encourage business/education partnerships.

Chamber Hosting 9th Annual Icebreaker Golf Outing PDF Print E-mail

Blue Ridge Trail Golf Course will be the site of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce 9th Annual icebreaker promoIcebreaker Golf Outing. Alliance Medical Group is the premiere sponsor for this event.

The outing is scheduled to take place on Friday, April 26th with an 11am luncheon and a 12 noon tee off.  Registration, which is $75 per player and includes a buffet lunch, round of golf with cart, and a drink voucher after the round of play.

Championship and Flight awards will be provided as well as awards for longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin.  Deadline for registrations is Friday, April 19th.

Chamber Woman’s Luncheon Open to All Women From Throughout Greater Hazleton PDF Print E-mail

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is their second, in a series of Womens Networking promo DBIluncheon programs for 2013, on Tuesday, March 26th from 12 noon to 1 pm at the Comfort Inn located at 58 State Route 93 in West Hazleton. The event is being sponsored by Lawn Specialties and is open to all business women in Greater Hazleton.

 “The woman’s networking committee is very excited to continue to offer these luncheon programs for women throughout our area. The luncheons have been very well received with attendance averaging approximately 60 business women per program.” explains Leann Fallabel, Vice President of Marketing and Women’s Networking Committee Coordinator for the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce.

Chambers 7th Annual “Ladies Night Out” Open to All Women in Greater Hazleton PDF Print E-mail

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking committee will hold its 7th Annual lno promo“Ladies Night Out” event. The event, sponsored by the Hazleton Health and Wellness Center, will take place on Wednesday, April 3rd  from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Carmen’s Country Inn & Gardens located at 324 Freedom Road in Drums.

All businesswomen of Greater Hazleton are invited to attend this event. “This is going to be an evening of pampering, relaxation, fun, cash & carry, self-indulgence and most importantly networking! Last year we had over 150 women attend this event and this year we anticipate an even larger turnout.” explains Leann Fallabel, VP of Marketing for the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce.

Senator Pat Toomey to Speak at Upcoming Chamber Breakfast Program PDF Print E-mail

U.S. Senator Patrick (Pat) Toomey will be the featured guest of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Red Carpet Breakfast program scheduled to take place on Friday, March 22nd at Genetti’s Best Western Inn & Suites, 1341 N. Church Street, Hazle Township.  The program, sponsored by Wagner Whitaker & John LLC, will begin at 8:45 a.m. and conclude at 10:00 a.m.

Senator Pat Toomey was elected to the U.S. Senate from Pennsylvania on a platform of limited government, economic and job growth, and restoring fiscal responsibility. The senator serves on the Finance; Banking; Budget; and Joint Economic committees. He is the chairman of the Senate Steering Committee -- the coalition of Republican senators that advocates for innovative, conservative policies.
