 Mohegan Sun is Funfest Presenting Sponsor. For the first time in its history, Funfest has a Presenting Sponsor. Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs has made a three-year commitment to the Hazleton Area to become the largest sponsor ever for Funfest Weekend. Through the agreement, the event will be known as “Funfest presented by Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.” In addition, the Mohegan Sun logo will be seen on the Funfest Banners which adorn the streets of Downtown Hazleton for the next three years. Meeting to announce the sponsorship are: Funfest Public Relations Coordinator Julie Ferry; Funfest Executive Director Judiann McGrogan; and Robyn Ryan, Vice President of Marketing; Kara Fox-LaRose, Assistant General Manager; and Michael Bean, President of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.
FUNFEST 2013 TO CELEBRATE THE 80s!
The Funfest Committee recently selected its theme for Funfest Weekend 2013, to take place September 7 and 8 in Downtown Hazleton. It will be a "Totally 80s Weekend," marking the decade of big hair and big fun!
Funfest got its start 35 years ago, created by a committee of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce called "Action for the 80s." This year's event will celebrate the styles, fads, and music that made up the decade. Watch our website for updates as planning continues for Funfest 2013! This year's logo was donated by longtime Funfest friend and supporter Precision Design of Hazleton.
SIGN-UPS HAVE BEGUN FOR FUNFEST WEEKEND
If you'd like to participate in Funfest, now's the time to sign up. Applications are now available for the Street Fair (Street Fair Application), Craft Show (Craft Application), Car Show (Car Show Registration), and Burger and Baked Goods Cook-offs (Cookoff Registration). And watch for the chance to be part of the great Funfest Parade, coming soon!
WHAT IS FUNFEST?
Funfest is FREE fun for the whole family. A two-day street fair held on Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton, Funfest brings residents of the Hazleton Area and visitors together for an end-of-the-summer celebration each year. And Funfest is truly a gift to the community: Admission is free, all the entertainment is free, parking is free, and the parade is FREE! Plus there's great ethnic and fair food, and activities galore to appeal to every taste. Funfest is located just off Interstate 81 near the junction with Interstate 80, so it's easy to find!
