Julia Franzosa Recognized by Chamber The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce recognized a recent Hazleton Area High School graduate for her athletic and academic accomplishments. Julia Franzosa was recognized during the Chamber’s July 25th Red Carpet breakfast program at which Hazleton Area High School administrators were the featured speakers.
Ms. Franzosa captured the first ever Gold Medal in the class 3A girl’s javelin at the PIAA Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg. Terry Malloy, Vice Chairman for the Chamber and Vice President of Commercial Lending at Landmark Community Bank, the breakfast sponsor, presented Ms. Franzosa with a framed “Certificate of Appreciation” from the Chamber for her accomplishments. He stated, “You set a fine example not only with your athletic accomplishments but for your academic accomplishments as well.” Ms. Franzosa will be attending Duquesne University in Pittsburgh to continue her academic and athletic endeavors.
