|Chamber Holding Annual Seminar for Human Resource Professionals & Small to Mid-Size Business Owners|
The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Human Resource Committee has announced their Seventh Annual Human Resource Seminar. This half day seminar consists of three sessions and attendees will choose from two topics in each session, plus a keynote speaker, continental breakfast and lunch. This seminar is geared toward Human Resource professionals, as well as small to mid-size business owners, assistant, middle or general managers or supervisors. The seminar is scheduled to take place on Thursday June 7th on the 4th Floor of the Hazleton Campus of Luzerne County Community College located at 100 W. Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton. The seminar will run from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm.Participants will have the opportunity to choose from two topics for each of the three one-hour breakout sessions. Session one topics include an Update on Healthcare Reform presented by ChamberChoice OR Recruiting and Social Networking presented by Spherion; Session two topics include How to Start a Safety Committee, presented by J. Thomas Safety First, LLC and OJT Program (on the job training program) and WorkKeys Program for Employers presented by the Hazleton Careerlink; and session three topics include an 12 P 2 – OSHA’s Proposed Rule for an Injury & Illness Reduction Program by Steven Delp, OSHA Compliance Assistant Specialist, or Harassment & Social Networking presented by The Seltzer Group.
Following the three breakout sessions keynote speaker, Attorney Elizabeth Maguschak of McNees Wallace & Nurick, LLC will provide an update on Human Resource Legal Issues. Attorney Maguschak is the incoming Chair of the Board of Directors for the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce and is part of the Chamber’s Human Resource Committee. Her practice is focused primarily in the areas of human resources and employment law, education law, and litigation. Attorney Maguschak is the member-in-charge at the Hazleton location of McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC.
This seminar has been approved for 3.75 Recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).

Cost to attend this seminar is $50.00 for Chamber members and $75.00 for Non-Chamber members. The registration fee includes continental breakfast, lunch and a binder with all materials and information presented that day.
