Regional hot spots serve up a yummy alternative to national chains. You’ll feel like you’re dining at the top of the world when you enter the dining room of Top of the 80’s, which overlooks the beautiful Conyngham Valley. Other must-eat places include Basile's Italian Restaurant, Angelo’s, Bobby's of New York, The Lookout House, Brother Bruno's, Dragonfly Cafe, Buon Appetito, Frankie's Restaurant and Mea’s.

With more than two dozen pizzerias locally, pizza is a specialty in Greater Hazleton. Besides the big chains, we also have many, many small shops where family recipes have been handed down from generation to generation. Greater Hazleton is well-known for its Americanized ethnic foods, like Sicilian and Neapolitan pizza, calzones, stromboli, pierogies, potato pancakes, blintzes, stews, gyros, funnel cakes, and so much more.

Hazleton has two nationally known bakeries that specialize in cold "pitza," an interesting twist on an old Italian favorite. Another Hazleton tradition can be found downtown, where Jimmy's Quick Lunch has been serving up loaded hot dogs in a diner atmosphere for decades. Jimmy's hot dogs have a reputation far beyond Greater Hazleton.

And the ethnic food is first class at our Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Greek, Indian and Thai eateries.
