The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee invites all women from throughout Greater Hazleton to a networking mixer on Wednesday, February 6th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Famous Salon & Spa, located at 358 Old Cranberry Road on Route 924 in Hazleton. Women’s mixers are an excellent opportunity to share your business with other businesswomen from throughout the area, meet new contacts and re-connect with old ones.
Women will network with fellow business women from throughout Greater Hazleton, while enjoying exclusive $10 mini sample spa services including manicures, pedicures, massages and hairstyles. A doorprize drawing including a $50.00 gift certificate to Famous Salon & Spa will also take place. Complimentary hors d’ oeuvres and wine will be provided and attendees are asked to bring along items that will help promote their business, such as, business cards, brochures and/or giveaways, which will be displayed on business resource tables throughout the event. |

Hazleton Mayor Joe Yannuzzi will address chamber members and guests at the Wednesday, January 30th Legislative Update Breakfast conducted by the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by National Penn Bank.
The Red Carpet Breakfast will take place at Mea’s Restaurant, downtown Hazleton, beginning at 7:45 a.m. and adjourning at 9:00 a.m. A full breakfast will be served at the upcoming breakfast program at a cost of $20.00 per person for chamber members and $25 for guests. Reservations are required by contacting the Chamber office at 455-1509 by Friday, January 28th to make a reservation. Members can also sign up through our website at www.hazletonchamber.org. |

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is holding their first woman’s networking luncheon program for 2013 on Tuesday, January 29th from 12 noon to 1 pm at Mea’s Restaurant located at 8 W. Broad Street in Hazleton. The event is being sponsored by MMI Preparatory School and is open to all business women in Greater Hazleton.
“The woman’s networking committee is very excited to continue to offer our luncheon programs for 2013. At a time when you can't pick up a newspaper or turn on the national news without hearing bickering and divisiveness over what’s “wrong” with our economy, something truly uplifting is happening in Pennsylvania. Without much fanfare, more than 2,000 young adults and business executives will converge in Williamsport, Pennsylvania during the months of July and August to both explore and celebrate the world of business and what free enterprise means to America. Thirty-five years ago, business leaders in Pennsylvania responded to a perceived lack of awareness in most young adults about how the private sector operates. In 1979, a marvelously innovative program was born to teach our young people (juniors and seniors in high school) about those issues that face business people every day. Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW), internationally-acclaimed for its excellence, now graduates approximately 1,800 students annually with a vastly improved understanding about the free market and how economic opportunity is so integrally tied to personal freedom.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is offering a seminar titled Chutes & Ladders Strategies for 2013. Attendees who come to this session will be a active participants and learn from others how you can dramatically improve your plans and goals for 2013.
The seminar will review goal setting and performance such as, Do you have your business plan complete? How about your sales plan? Did you achieve your 2102 goals? Do you know why or why not? Remember playing Chutes and Ladders? Land on a ladder and you can by-pass trudging along the road of the masses; but land on a chute and the slide backward can take you further than you began. In this interactive session, we will start by summarizing the issues facing business today, * 22% of businesses surveyed reported their 2012 budgets were the same as or less than 2011; * 75% of businesses report a lead tracking system, but cannot report on results; * 52% of American companies said they are experiencing difficulty finding employees qualified enough to fill mission-critical positions, compared to only 14 percent in 2010. |
