The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce invites all chamber member businesses, their employees and their guests to attend a special networking mixer. The mixer is sponsored by the Heritage Hill Senior Community and it is being hosted by Top of the 80’s, 3 Top of the 80’s in Hazleton.
The mixer will take place this Tuesday, May 4th from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Chef Drew will be serving a wide array of hors d ‘oeuvres. A cash bar will be available and door prizes will be raffled off.

The two-man team comprised of players from First National Bank with team members Joe Baran and Tom Evanko took the Chamber’s Charmpionship flight award during the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce 6th Annual Icebreaker Golf Outing Friday, April 30th at Mountain Valley Golf Course in Barnesville.
Other winners in the tournament were: First Flight Winners representing First Columbia Bank & Trust, Elizabeth Hittle and Colleen Liddick. Second Flight winners representing DeAngelo Brothers, Inc. included Bill Patterson and John Hogan. Closest to the Pin Awards were won by John Bodin and Jim Cannon.
The premier sponsor for the event was Geisinger. Distinguished sponsors included DeAngelo Brothers, American Abstractors at Eagle Rock Resort, Executive Cleaning and Supply, Bank of America Home Loans, Cross Valley Federal Credit Union, Greater Hazleton Health Alliance, Hometown Nursing & Rehab and Kavlick Enterprises/McDonalds.

Community Reading Day was held in the Greater Hazleton Area, Wednesday, April 28th, and scores of local volunteers joined their counterparts from throughout the entire region in a community partnership designed to promote literacy in the area. The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce coordinated the event locally and was sponsored by Bank of America. Linda Mantush, marketing assistant for the Chamber, coordinated the event.
More than five dozen volunteers from all walks of life in the Hazleton Area spent upwards of 30 minutes and more reading to first and second grade students in schools throughout the region and the Chamber wishes to thank not only those individual readers, but the many businesses who allowed their employees to spend part of their morning reading to the children in schools in the Hazleton Area School District, Parochial School system, and Head Start programs.

Officials from the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce announced that over 1,700 people volunteers for this year’s "Great Pennsylvania Cleanup” campaign, which took place throughout Greater Hazleton this past Saturday, April 24th. Chamber president Donna Palermo states, “Once again, the Greater Hazleton community came out in force to help rid the area of litter and debris, and we thank them for their volunteer efforts. Our hope is that it provides an example for others to follow, and more importantly, to serve as a reminder to those people who abuse our environment by throwing litter on our area roadways, playgrounds and greenspaces to refrain from those unfavorable habits.”

Are you right for social media? This seminar will cover the basics and the do's and dont's! Learn How to Use 1.) the Boardroom (LinkedIn); 2.) the Backyard Bar-b-q (Facebook); 3.) the Billboard (Twitter) and 4.) and Blogging for your Business.
