The Hazleton Chapter of POWER! (professionals organized and working to enrich the region) is holding a social event on Thursday, February 21st from 5 to 7 pm at Dragonfly Café, 9 E. Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton. Whether you are a business person, teacher, college student, stay at home mom or dad, or even new to the area you are invited to attend. The group is looking for fresh ideas. Find out what the group is all about, what kind of plans are underway for 2013 and why you should get involved and be a part of it. Everyone will casually mingle and discuss all of our ideas to improve our area. The event is business casual, BYOB and $10 at the door, which includes light fare.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce has several OSHA trainings scheduled for February, including Mandatory Fall Protection Training, Tuesday February 12th; Focus Four Hazards Training, Tuesday, February 19th and 10 Hour OSHA Training in General Industry, Tuesday & Wednesday, February 26th & 27th.
The Mandatory Fall Protection Training and the Focus Four Hazards Training will be 8am to 12noon at the Chamber Office, 20 W. Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton. Cost is $79.00 per person and $69 for each additional person from same company or if you attended any OSHA training at the Chamber in 2013. Cost includes training, materials and refreshments.
The 10 Hour OSHA Training in General Industry will be held 9am to 2:30 pm each day at the Chamber Office, 20 W. Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton. Cost is $180 chamber members and $240 non chamber members. Cost includes training, materials and lunch each day. |

Congressman Louis Barletta will address the business community on Wednesday, February 20th at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Red Carpet Breakfast program. The program, sponsored by Geisinger Health System, will take place at the Best Western Genetti Inn & Suites, Route 309, Hazle Township, beginning at 7:45 AM and concluding at 9:00 a.m. This is the second program of the Chamber’s legislative series of breakfasts. Last month, Mayor Joe Yannuzzi began the series with the State of the City address. Additional speakers confirmed to date include Rep. Tarah Toohil on March 27th and Senator John Yudichak on April 24th. |

The Airport Beltway Road Project is currently underway and in order to keep you apprised of the construction schedule and timeline for the project, a meeting has been scheduled to take place with PennDOT and project engineer Michael Bernetski. Take this advantage to ask questions about the project and to view map designs of the project.
