James Edwards, CEO/President of the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance will be the main speaker at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Red Carpet Breakfast program on Wednesday, April 10th. Mr. Edwards will highlight the Alliance’s life-saving Emergency Services, the Hazleton Health and Wellness Center, Alliance Medical Group, and more.
The program will begin with a full breakfast, sponsored by the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance, beginning at 7:45 a.m. at the Valley Country Club, 79 Country Club Road, Sugarloaf.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is offering a seminar on Ergonomics in Your Workplace. During this session we will identify the most common areas of repetitive motion problems, what some forward-thinking businesses are doing to improve job function for their employees, and discuss how to identify and implement a program that gives you the tools to recognize and plan for changes in work function to better match the employee actions (if the demands of the job match the capabilities of the worker, the job-worker interface is optimized). Employers must be aware of the issues faced by older adults and how to use the sound principles of ergonomics to accommodate them in the workplace.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, along with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will once again sponsor the "Great Pennsylvania Cleanup” campaign. The one-day cleanup will be conducted Saturday, April 20th rain or shine.
"The Great Pennsylvania Cleanup" is a statewide effort designed to encourage concerned citizens and groups to participate in a meaningful community beautification effort. The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is the local coordinator for the Greater Hazleton Area.

Community Reading Day helps to promote literacy and encourage life-long reading and imagination with our next generation. That’s the message the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is sending through its partnership with Penn State Hazleton in the Seventeenth Annual Community Reading Day program. This event will be held in the Hazleton area on April 25th between 9:30 am and 10:00 am in elementary classrooms in Hazleton Area schools and throughout Luzerne, Lackawanna, and Wayne Counties.
In addition to the Greater Hazleton Chamber, additional event partners are the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber, the Greater Carbondale Area Chamber, the Greater Pittston Chamber, the South Valley Chamber, and the Wayne County Chamber. Together, these regional groups organized this annual event as part of their ongoing efforts to encourage business/education partnerships.
