Nominations for the annual Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce/ Berger Family Dealerships "Athena Award" are now being accepted. Nomination letters will be sent in the Chamber’s March newsletter to over 1,000 Chamber member contacts, and are also available at the Chamber office at Citiscape, 20 W. Broad Street, Downtown Hazleton and online at www.hazletonchamber.org.
The award is presented annually to the "Businesswoman of the Year" in the Greater Hazleton Area. The presentation, which features a handsome bronze and crystal sculpture, is presented as part of the Chamber’s Annual Meeting and is sponsored by Berger Family Dealerships. This year, the award will be presented on Thursday, May 20th, at the 118th Annual Dinner of the Chamber, to take place at the Genetti Best Western Inn and Suites.

Emotional Intelligence is a fact of life that we are all involved on a daily basis but may be unaware on how to use it more effectively to build a stronger sense of self confidence in all that we do.
The seminar, scheduled for Thursday, March 11th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. will take place at the Chamber’s offices at 20 W. Broad Street, Downtown Hazleton. Cost to attend the seminar is $15 for chamber members and $25 for non-chamber members.
This seminar will focus on discussing the Use of Emotional Intelligence
in Training Organizations and Individuals using specific skills to
build higher performance and personal satisfaction in ones daily life.
In addition, organizations can build systems that reduce conflict and
help in building strong professional work teams. This helps
organizations improve efficiency and create a positive environment both
at the workplace and at home.

State Representative Todd Eachus, Democrat,116th District, will address the business community on Thursday, February 25th at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Red Carpet Breakfast program. Rep. Eachus holds the title of House Majority Leader. The breakfast program is sponsored by St. Luke Village and will take place at Capriotti’s in Tresckow.
The program will begin at 7:45 a.m. and concluding at 9:00 a.m. A full breakfast will be served at the upcoming breakfast program for a $15 fee for chamber members and a $20 fee for non-chamber members. Chamber members and guests who would like to attend should contact the Chamber office at 455-1509 by Tuesday, February 23rd.
The Red Carpet programs are conducted monthly by the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce as a way of providing information to the local business community and offering new and expanded business networking opportunities.
