Downtown Giveaway Winners Annouced

Bill Spear, Chairman, Chamber Downtown Committee, Carol Kay, Greater Hazleton Senior Citizens Services and committee member, and Debbie Pavuk, Administrative Assistant of the Chamber.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of its Holiday Giveaway on Thursday, December 20th, and each of the 32 lucky individuals will be able to enjoy a Downtown Holiday shopping experience.

The Giveaway was sponsored by the Chamber’s Downtown Promotions Committee, and involved 29 Center City Businesses. Chamber Downtown Committee Chairman Bill Spear, Chamber President Donna Palermo, Chamber Administrative Assistant Debbie Pavuk and Carol Kay, Greater Hazleton Senior Citizens and Downtown Committee member, oversaw today’s drawing.

Each of the 32 winners (some merchants provided more than one prize) will receive a prize with a value of at least $25 dollars from participating businesses.

 “On behalf of the Chamber and the Downtown Committee, I would like to thank all those who participated, and congratulate our winners,” said Spear.  “Center City Hazleton has a wonderful mix of stores, specialty shops, restaurants and services, and we are happy to have this opportunity to showcase them, and to encourage residents to shop here.” 

“The participants in this year’s promotion represent every possible product and service, and we’re happy to give our winners so many options for spending their prizes,” Palermo added.

The contest began several weeks ago, and contestants were encouraged to fill out entry blanks at participating businesses and through the Standard-Speaker. Hundreds of shoppers entered the contest.

The Chamber's Downtown Committee works actively to promote the Center City Area, and has also established a working relationship with the City administration to conduct activities and to plan for the future.
