Chamber Mixer to Highligh Second Edition of Community Awareness DVD

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 7th to attend a mixer to launch the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce’s Second Edition Community Awareness DVD. The event will take place at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, the premiere sponsor for the DVD, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Network with your fellow Chamber members, watch the new DVD, and enjoy hors d’ oeuvres and beverages compliments of Mohegan Sun. In addition, Bobby Soper, President and CEO of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will provide an overview of the new Casino that is under construction. This event is open to Chamber members over 21 years of age.

The new DVD will focus on the positive aspects of life in Greater Hazleton and regionally and has been produced to promote the region’s strong points.  The initial DVD was launced in May of 2003 through the Chamber’s newly formed “Community Awareness” committee.  A new logo was designed and special newspaper articles were published on a monthly basis by the Standard-Speaker and written by staff writer Jim Dino.

The initiative’s organizers believe the region is a great place to live, work and play and intend to prove that to the rest of the community through the use of the DVD, said Allen Wagner, who chairs the chamber committee organizing the event. “This new DVD will compliment the Chamber’s Newcomer Packet and Community Tours in an effort to welcome and familiarize newcomers to the Greater Hazleton Area”.

Copies of the new DVD will be made  available through the Chamber office by the end of November for a nominal charge of $5.00 per DVD.  Copies can be reserved by calling the Chamber office at 455-1509 or via email at www.hazletonchamber.org
