Chamber’s Community Awareness Committee to Conduct Tour
The Community Awareness Committee of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce will be providing a free tour, courtesy of Motor Transportation Co., of the community on Saturday, October 6th. The tour will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., leaving from behind the Chamber offices, which are located in the Citiscape Building, Downtown Hazleton at 20 W. Broad Street.
The tour is conducted by the Chamber to help make newcomers to the area more aware of what the Hazleton Area community has to offer.
According to Community Awareness Committee chairman, Allen Wagner, “We, at the Chamber, know that it is not only very important for new employees to be able to enjoy a great quality of life here in the Hazleton Area, but focus must also be placed on providing amenities for family members as well. By conducting community tours for our newcomers, we feel it will provide a great benefit for the spouse or other family members who are not familiar with what the area has to offer in the form of recreation, housing, education, worship, etc. The tours, conducted by members of the committee, will also benefit those individuals who may have moved to the area one or two years ago, but simply are still not all that familiar with the area.”
Mailings have again gone out to businesses and industries throughout the area asking them to advise any newcomers who have joined their business to make them aware of this new service. The tour is also open to non-industry people who would like to learn more about the community. Space is limited and reservations are required by calling Leann Scatton, marketing director, at the Chamber office at 455-1509 or by email: lscatton@hazletonchamber.org. |
