POWER! "Regional Outage" set for Oct. 4

The Greater Hazleton Chapter of POWER! (professionals organized and working to enrich the region) will be holding their “Regional Outage” on Thursday, October 4th at Burgers Farm in Drums (exit 256 off I-80; Route 93 S; 1st left onto St. John’s Road; Follow the signs) from 6 pm to 8 pm. Join your fellow POWER! members for an enchanting evening under the stars featuring guest speaker Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta.
The event will consist of elegant hors d’ oeuvres and wine tasting by Maiolatesi Wine Cellars, live jazz music by Burgess, Mitchell & Seal, beautiful art displayed by local artists and networking like you have never down before. The “Regional Outage” is free of charge and all professionals in the area are invited to attend.
Everyone is asked to bring along a can food item that will benefit the Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO) Thanksgiving Day Dinner. CEO was incorporated in 1967 as a community action agency to alleviate poverty. CEO is a nonprofit organization is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of three constituencies with equal representation: consumers, public sector, and private sector. With its central office in the Heights neighborhood of Wilkes-Barre, CEO maintains site offices in downtown Wilkes-Barre, Kingston, Hazleton and Tunkhannock.
POWER!, is an organization of “progressive thinking” professionals that provides networking and recreational opportunities on local and regional levels. POWER! was created several years ago by the Great Valley Technology Alliance in response to the out-migration of young professionals from Northeastern Pennsylvania. Members meet on a regular basis in order to give professionals an opportunity to voice their opinions and solutions about the region in a casual, peer-oriented atmosphere.
