Capitol Square Diner Receives Downtown Pride Award from Chamber

George Giannakouros and Lora Kufro, Capitol Square Diner, receive the Downtown Pride Award for the month of June from
Downtown Chairman Bill Spear. Mr. Ginnakouros and Ms. Kufro receive a framed certificate from the Chamber of Commerce and
its Downtown Promotions committee for their efforts in keeping their establishment clear of litter and debris.
Capitol Square Diner, located at 131 W. Broad Street, Downtown Hazleton, recently received the “Downtown Pride” award from the Downtown Committee of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce for the month of July.
The award, initiated to help address the issue of cleanliness in the Downtown area, was the seventh such award presented by the committee. The award was initiated to recognize the efforts of individual businesses that set an example of pride in conducting a business in the Downtown area.
William L. Spear, chairman of the Chamber’s Downtown Committee states, “We are recognizing the Capitol Square Diner for paying special attention to the cleanliness surrounding their business. Capitol Square Diner sets a prime example of Downtown Pride by constantly cleaning their area of litter and debris and we wanted to show them our appreciation for their effort.”
