The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Human Resources Committee has announced their Second Annual Human Resource Seminar. The half day seminar is being held in on Thursday May 24th on the 4th Floor of the Hazleton Campus of Luzerne County Community College located at 100 W. Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton. The seminar will run from 8 am to 1 pm and will be $50.00 for Chamber members and $75.00 for Non-Chamber members. The registration fee includes a continental breakfast, lunch and materials.

Participants will have the opportunity to choose from two topics for each of the three 45 minute breakout sessions. Session one topics include an Update on Legal Issues or Decoding Office Politics/Improving Workplace Atomspherics; Session two topics include Recruiting/Hiring and Employee Retention or Six Steps to a Drug Free Workplace; And session three topics include Benefits of Utilizing Employer Services Provided by the Hazleton CareerLink or How to Reduce Workers Compensation Costs. Following the three breakout sessions keynote speaker, Joesph Makarewicz, Chief Operating Officer of Offset Paperback Manufacturers, Inc. will speak on how their company established a health care commission to address the cost of health care premiums.

This seminar is also approved for three Recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).
