Chamber Re-Elects Gary C. Danish as Chairman

Gary C. Danish, Video by UVP., was re-elected as Chairman of the
Board of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerceat a reorganization
meeting of the organization on Monday, April 9th. William
L. Spear will serve as Immediate Past Chairman and Donna Palermo
was re-elected as President of the organization.
Joining Mr. Danish and Ms. Palermo are new board members and officers
who will begin their terms May 1st.
Vice Chairs include Scott Koch, UGI Utilities, Inc., Llewellyn
Dryfoos, III, Atty. George R. Hludzik, Law Offices of George R.
Hludzik, and Martha Herron, PPL Corporation. Angeline Yenchko will
serve as Treasurer and Stephen Walser will serve as Secretary.
Elected to three year terms on the Board of Directors were Elizabeth
Bernstein, Century 21 Bernstein Real Estate, Lonni Pollie, Earley-Polli
Agency, Terrance Malloy, Legacy Bank, Jerome Panisak, Cardiology
Associates of Greater Hazleton P.C., and Barry Jais, WYLN.
Don Elko, Covenant Abstract will fill an unexpired term.
Other prominent business men and women currently serving on the
Chamber board are; Sean Anderson, General Mills, Amilcar Arroyo,
El Mensajero, Atty. Elizabeth Maguschak, McNees, Wallace & Nurick,
LLC, Kevin Salaway, Penn State Hazleton, Dr. William Shergalis,
MMI, Alexander Sloot, Printmark Industries, Allen Wagner, Janney
Montgomery Scott, L.L.C., and Dominic Yannuzzi, Alfred Benesch & Co.
Staff members, in addition to Ms. Palermo, include: Leann Scatton,
Marketing Director, Daniel Guydish, Membership Director, Judiann
McGrogran, Funfest Executive Director, Julie Pacelli, Funfest Public
Relations Coordinator/Executive Secretary, Deborah Pavuk, administrative
assistant, and Nancy Zolota, Bookkeeper. The Chamber also
houses three affiliates; Leadership Hazleton, Greater Hazleton
Area Civic Partnership, and the Mountain Council of Governments.
The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is the area’ s oldest
and largest business advocacy organization. Originally formed
in 1892 as the Hazleton Board of Trade, the organization will celebrate
its 115th year of service to the business community at its Annual
Dinner at the Genetti Best Western Inn & Suite on May 10th.
