Vesuvio Pizza and Restaurant Receives Downtown Pride Award from Chamber

Vesuvio Pizza and Restaurant, located at 101 N. Wyoming Street, Downtown Hazleton, was the recent recipient of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce “Downtown Pride” award. The award, presented for the month of February, is coordinated through the Chamber’s Downtown Committee.
Chamber President Donna Palermo states, “The award, was initiated to help address the issue of cleanliness in the Downtown area and to recognize the efforts of individual businesses that set an example of pride in conducting a business in the Downtown area. We are recognizing Vesuvio’s Pizza and Restaurant for the tremendous example that they have set for other businesses in addressing the cleanliness of the Downtown area and for making major expansion at their facility.”
Previous winners of the Chamber’s Downtown Pride Award includes: Bob’s Sporting Goods, CAN DO, Inc., Capitol Square Diner, Chaskin Jewelers, City of Hazleton, Deb & Greg’s, Dryfoos Insurance Agency, Inc., Fellin’s Jewelers, First Presbyterian Church, Greater Hazleton Senior Citizens, Hazle Drugs, Inc., Hazleton Area Public Library, Jimmy’s Quick Lunch, Lehigh Tire, Metallo’s Formal Wear/Spotless Cleaners, and Mr. Phil’s.
The Chamber wishes to remind Downtown Businesses that the Great PA Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, April 19th and all Downtown businesses are being asked to participate as a group by calling the Chamber office. Businesses are encouraged to sweep their sidewalks and pick up any litter that is near or around their block that their business is located on. The Chamber will provide each participant with bags, vests, gloves, and a special certificate of appreciation from the Chamber.
