Deadline nears for Hazleton Area job fair
Volunteers working with the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce
and the Hazleton CareerLink are continuing to plan for the Eleventh
Annual Hazleton Area Job Fair which will take place on March 29th
at the Best Western Genetti Motor Inn & Suites. The Job Fair
provides a unique forum to help match people with new and expanded
employment opportunities. Chamber officials remind employers that
the deadline to register for the event is Friday, March 9th.
Area employers seeking to locate full, part time, temporary or
summer workers, can obtain information about the Job Fair by contacting
the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce at 455-1509. Since
the past Job Fair's have been sell-outs, firms contemplating
participation are asked to forward their registration as soon as
possible.
The event is being coordinated by the Chamber and the Hazleton
CareerLink, along with the cooperation of the Schuylkill
and White Haven Chambers. Sponsors for the day-long event include
the Luzerne County CareerLinks, NEPIRC, PPL Corporation,

Again for this year there will be a special opportunity where
employers can take advantage of a special advertising opportunity
through the Standard-Speaker. A special insert or section of the
newspaper will focus on businesses who will be represented at the
Job Fair in the Wednesday, March 28th publication.
This year's program will take place from 11:00AM to 6:00PM and
will focus simultaneously on all phases of employment opportunities
in order to accommodate every area resident.
The program is open to the public, and admission is free.
The Job Fair provides local businesses with an opportunity to
meet with prospective new employees and take advantage of the informal
setting to help fill current or upcoming job availabilities. All
business participants will have a professionally set-up booth space
at the event.
As many as one thousand job seekers have attended past Job Fair
Programs. Information about registration can be obtained
from either the Chamber or the Hazleton CareerLink.
