Metallo's Formal Wear & Spotless Cleaners, located at
310 W. Broad Street, Downtown Hazleton, recently received the "Downtown
Pride" award from the Downtown Committee of the Greater Hazleton
Chamber of Commerce.
The award, initiated to help address the issue of cleanliness
in the Downtown area, was the fifth such award presented by the
committee. The award was initiated to recognize the
efforts of individual businesses that set an example of pride in
conducting a business in the Downtown area.
William L. Spear, chairman of the Chamber's Downtown Committee
states, "We are recognizing Metallo's Formal Wear/Spotless
Cleaners for paying special attention to the cleanliness surrounding
their business. We are asking that every businessperson make the
effort to, at least each Monday of the week, go out and pick up
the litter and debris around their place of business. And,
if the building next door to your business is vacant, to clean
that area as well. Working together, we can make a difference
in the cleanliness of the Downtown area, and Metallo's Formal Wear/Spotless
Cleaners sets a prime example of this effort."
Joseph Scarcella, owner, was presented with a framed certificate
from the Chamber of Commerce and its Downtown Promotions committee.
